Some of my favorite things we do as a store is, 1) Hold Trunk Shows with awesome goods by local small business and artists, and 2) Downtown Bloomington's F1rst Fr1day!! Both will be happening on Friday, May 2nd!!

First of all, May 2nd will start with a Trunk Show by A Thing of Beauty Designs. Jen Gallivan, local jewelry artist, and I will be setting up Thursday night, so as soon as the doors open on Friday morning at 10 a.m., we'll have lots of great jewelry by Jen available in the store. Her necklaces, bracelets, and earrings are made with a lot of natural stones, unique, high quality materials, and a lot of love! Each piece is beautifully and thoughtfully designed, as well as affordable. A Thing of Beauty Designs' pieces are equally great for yourself or as a gift...maybe mom? Mother's Day is coming up on May 11th. A Thing of Beauty Designs' Trunk show will go on through Sunday, May 4th, during all of the store's open hours.

We'll open at 10a.m on Friday, so feel free to stop by anytime, but the F1rst Fr1day events will kick off at 5 p.m. and go until 8 p.m.

Here's what's going on...

Henna Artist, Anuja, will be here doing henna tattoos for those who'd like. These temporary tattoos can be done on your hands, feet, ankle, or arm, and will run between $5 and $15 (depending on size and detail). So get your nails and toes did, so you can rock your henna art as Spring gives way to Summer. Also, talk to Anuja about scheduling an at-home private party or about her classes taught at Heartland Community College.

Nacho Mama's Grilled Cheese Food Truck will be here from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. too. So don't worry about eating before you come down here, because the Nacho Mamas will be grilling up delicious sandwiches filled with local and fresh cheeses and veggies.

And last but certainly not least, we'll have a band down here for F1rst Fr1day!! So come down to the Warehouse District and watch Shuga Beatz perform starting at 5 p.m.

Now this whole shindig (henna, food truck, and band) are planned to be outside! We will have a patio area set up, and feel free to bring a lawn chair, and relax a while. However, if the weather is less than desirable, the henna and band will move inside and the food truck will pull under the cover of the Center Street bridge. So rain or shine, come see us!

It would be so awesome if you could share this with interested friend or family!
