Dining Room Spiff Up: Step One, Chairs.

First off, thank you to everyone who responded to my first post where I asked advice on what to do in the dining room of rental house. Everyone had so many great ideas! (If you missed the first post, take a look at the blank slate of a dining room, here.)

I had some thoughts of my own on what to do with the space, but hearing your ideas were so inspirational! So keep them coming as we move on, okay!

One thing that people suggested was painting the chairs at the table for more color and variety in the room. And I think you nailed it, more color and variety! But instead of painting the chairs pictured, I swapped them out with some I recently came across at Mercantile Antiques & Collectibles in Saint Joseph, Illinois.

These chairs definitely add some color to the space and I decided to add two more mid century chairs at each end of the table for some variety. So here's the first update on the dining room, I hope you like it...

It definitely makes a difference right off the bat without doing anything else.

Here are the chair for the ends of the table.
I did a quick clean on them, but I think I'll try to polish them up a bit more.

I like the juxtaposition of the farmhouse table and mod chairs!
Because keeping the table pulled out doesn't work for us day-to-day, we pushed the table back to the wall again and set one chair off to the side.

The other change made in these pictures is taking the printer and catchall basket off the back of the table. While it opens up the table, I still need storage so these things can find a permanent home.

So what do you think? I think it's moving in a fun direction, but I'd love to hear what you have to say. Comments on the blog are always welcomed.
